Each September, Nottingham's streets are awash with runners taking part in the Robin Hood Marathon and Half Marathon. Around 12000 competitors are estimated to participate, with crowds lining the route from Victoria Embankment, around the city, and back to the Recreation Ground. Expect live music, sizzling street-food and entertainment. Charity events, the Robin Hood Marathon and Half Marathon make a great day out for all the family, and there's even a Mini-Marathon for younger runners.

With thousands of competitors and spectators, car parking for the marathon events can be incredibly difficult.
