Parking in Preston

Preston is the largest city in Lancashire, and has been a key port and trading centre for centuries. It’s a friendly, busy city, and is now also a centre for education, with the University of Lancashire campus in the middle of the city. Parking can be a challenge, especially during busy times such as Christmas, and the centrally located NCP car park at Church Street, is perfect if you’re visiting the city for a spot of retail therapy.

Points of interest

Preston has more than its fair share of museums, most of which are within easy walking distance of NCP Church Street car park. Lovers of the ‘beautiful game’ will make a beeline to see Preston North End FC play at home, while if your interest envelopes all things military then head to the Queens Lancashire Regiment Museum, the largest military heritage centre in the north west of England. Church Street NCP car park is literally a few steps from the popular Harris Museum and Art Gallery, housed in an impressive 19th century building that epitomises the Victorian glory days of this industrial powerhouse.

Attraction & event parking in Preston

Fishergate Shopping Centre

Preston has excellent retail facilities, including a busy high street. Fishergate shopping centre is one of the most popular shopping areas, providing covered shopping ranging from boutiques and independent traders to some of the most common high street names. It’s close proximity to Church Street car park means you won’t have to walk too far with your bags, either.

Preston Guildhall

Preston Guildhall is much more than a municipal or administrative centre. It’s also one of the city’s main entertainment venues, staging events, shows and productions all year round. It’s a modern structure on the outside, but inside its bright, airy, cathedral-like space has won architectural and design awards, making it an interesting location to visit. Church Street car park is literally a few paces away from the Guildhall, making it an ideal Preston car park to choose if you’re visiting the centre for business or leisure.

Harris Museum

The city’s Harris Museum originally started life as a municipal library, bought and paid for by the people of Preston. Because it is such a key part of local history, Prestonians are rightfully proud of this magnificent building that is still a key part of life in the city to this day. The art gallery showcases local artists, and has special exhibitions celebrating Preston’s glass and ceramics artisans too. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from the Church Street car park, making it easy to get to on foot.
