Parking in Kingston

Before becoming part of Greater London, Kingston-upon-Thames was once an important market town with a rich and unique history of its own. In Anglo-Saxon times, the town lay on the border of the ancient kingdoms of Murcia and Wessex and several kings were crowned here, which explains its royal name.

These days, Kingston-upon-Thames has a bustling centre with great shopping, an exciting arts scene and top nightlife. Plentiful parking makes visiting this hidden London gem easy too. Regular arts, food and culture festivals take place in the town throughout the year, so there's plenty of things going on for you to see.

The area also has plenty of green spaces and easy access to some of London’s best attractions, so why not leave the car at one of NCP’s Kingston-upon-Thames car parks and go exploring? Whether you’re planning a cultural day out, looking for a convenient base from which to discover the delights of Kew Gardens, or want to enjoy a drink in Charles Dickens’ old watering hole, NCP parking in Kingston-upon-Thames makes it easy and affordable.

Kingston-upon-Thames has several major points of interest including the Rose Theatre, with its distinctive architecture and world class productions. Rose Theatre

The Rose is one of Greater London’s newest theatres, and officially opened its doors in January 2008. The first production at the theatre, Chekov’s Uncle Vanya, was directed by Peter Hall. The theatre seats 899, and a packed programme of events features both professional and community productions, giving local groups and organisations the chance to perform on a world class stage. Make sure you get there in time for Curtain Up by parking at NCP’s St James Road car park.

The Bentall Centre

If you’re planning a day of retail therapy in Kingston-upon-Thames then a trip to the Bentall Centre is a must. The shopping centre has a huge choice of stores, restaurants and cafés under its colossal domed roof. Built around the Bentalls department store, the 1935 façade of the original building has been retained, giving the shopping centre a great mix of old and new design. Its towering atrium ceiling is higher than the dome of St Paul’s Cathedral. The centre is also home to the biggest single truss escalator in the world that only has a top and bottom support.

If you’re heading into town this weekend to grab yourself a bargain, you’ll find Kingston-upon-Thames car parking spaces available at both St James Street and Kingston Fairfield car parks, making it easier than ever to get your shopping fix without worrying about parking or carrying those heavy bags too far back to the car.
