Norwich St Stephens Street
Norwich sits in the heart of East Anglia and is one of Britain’s best preserved historic cities. The Saxons fortified Norwich in the 9th century, and its relaxed provincial atmosphere owes much to the original irregular street plan that’s still in place today. Flemish settlers arrived here in the 12th century and established a thriving textile business, creating a prosperous market, and Norwich was England’s second city until the Industrial Revolution in the early 19th century, when commercial power shifted north.
The oldest parts of Norwich at Elm Hill and Tombland have some of the finest of Britain’s medieval streets, and there are many medieval buildings which have hardly changed at all since they were erected. Visitors come to see the colourful market in the city centre and to savour the atmosphere of ‘Old England’. The trouble with these quaint medieval streets, though, is that they’re incredibly narrow, making parking in Norwich a challenge.
Thankfully, NCP’s Norwich car park at St Stephens Street is conveniently close to many of the attractions in the city centre, and you can pre-book your parking space in Norwich to make your visit hassle-free and easy.
