Exeter Market Street
Devon’s county town has a long history, stretching back to its time under Roman rule. While the Roman city wall and assorted sandstone ruins are still very evident, Exeter is a modern city, with excellent shopping and a welcoming high street. It’s also established itself as something of a hotspot for foodies, with an extensive range of restaurants, including one owned by the renowned chef, Michael Caine. Exeter’s university is well respected across the UK and the campus grounds are impeccably maintained. The Exeter Market Street NCP puts you within easy reach of Exeter’s highlights.
Exeter Cathedral Parking
Hidden away in a beautiful, Medieval square, Exeter Cathedral cuts an imposing, Gothic figure. Covered with gargoyles and with a stunning interior that details its 600-year-old history, the cathedral continues to host services and ceremonies, the most spectacular of which must be Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. The Exeter Market Street NCP is only a five-minute walk away, giving you convenient access to one of the city’s most fascinating attractions.
Exeter Guildhall Parking
Exeter’s Guildhall has been standing almost as long as the cathedral and was once the centre of civic government. After a facelift in the 1590s and some TLC in the 19th century, the only sign that it was once a Medieval building is the small church in the middle of the complex. Over the centuries, it has been used as a jail, a courthouse, a wool store and the Guildhall even displays a sword that used to belong to Admiral Lord Nelson. The Exeter Market Street NCP is just over five minutes away from the Guildhall, offering a prime place for parking if you want to step back into Exeter’s past.
Guildhall Shopping Centre Parking
Beyond the Guildhall building, you’ll find the Guildhall Shopping Centre. A modern mall, it houses a range of shops, from the big-name brands to small and independent retailers. If you need a break from bargain-hunting, there are some excellent places to eat in the centre and a regular food market, held close to the shops. A mere six minutes from the Exeter Market Street NCP, you won’t have far to carry your bags, once your shopping trip is done.
