Following on from the Government announcement on Tuesday 24 March 2020, we’re pleased to extend our free parking offer to anyone needing to travel and park during the lockdown period.
This offer applies at car parks where we’re responsible for setting the tariff and will be available in major cities and towns across the UK.
Whilst the car parks will be open, it’s important to note that for safety reasons:
- Our lifts will not be operational.
- We won’t be able to accept cash payments. Alternatives such as card or mobile payments are available and you’ll find details within the car park.
- If you need help in an emergency, you’ll be able to contact us 24/7 through the number published in the car park.
During the lockdown period, we’ve suspended the need for you to pre-book your free parking space. We will review this once the lockdown period is over so its important you check our website for the most up to date information, but for now you’re free to enter and park for free at all participating car parks across the country.
How to redeem the free parking offer
There’s nothing you need to do. This extended offer will be available during the lockdown period and you’ll be able to enter, park and exit the car park at no cost to you. If the lockdown period extends beyond the three week period outlined by the Government, we’ll review the offer and who its available to at the end of April.
Participating car parks
We’ve made this offer available at as many NCP cars park locations as we can. Please note, this offer will vary and may not apply at rail, airport, shopping centre and hospital car parks we operate on behalf of other companies, so we recommend you check signs at the car park to see if the free parking offer is available. We’re doing all we can to work with our partners at these sites to include them in the free parking offer as soon as possible.
Closed car parks
Unfortunately we’ve had to close some car parks which are listed below and where possible we’ve suggested the nearest alternative car park for you to park at:
Frequently asked questions
Who is the free parking offer available to?
This offer has been extended to include anyone who needs or has to travel and park during the lockdown period
Why isn’t this offer available at some car parks you operate?
We’re able to offer free parking at all city centre car parks where NCP controls the tariff charged. Where we operate car parks for rail companies, airports, shopping centres and hospital car parks this offer may not be available but we’re doing all we can to work with our partners at these sites to include them in the free parking offer as soon as possible.
Why are some car parks closed?
Unfortunately, some car parks aren’t open as we’re subject to landlord requests and decisions to close these locations. Where possible, we’ve identified the nearest car park open to park at where the free parking offer applies
How long is free parking available for?
This extended offer will be available during lockdown period and if this extends beyond the 3 week period outlined by the Government, we’ll review the offer and who its available to at end of April
What do I need to do get the free offer?
Nothing, simply park in one of the participating locations.
Will car parks be fully operational?
During the lock down period for safety reasons our lifts won’t be operational, we wont be able to take cash payments only card or mobile and there will be a 24/7 number for customers to call in an emergency.
Is free parking available to key workers?
Yes, this offer has been extended to include anyone who needs or has to travel and park during the lockdown period. If this extends beyond the 3 week period outlined by the Government, we’ll review the offer and who its available to at end of April
If parking is free, why would I need to know about other payment options?
At car parks where the free parking offer is available, there is no cost or requirement to pay for parking during the lockdown period. At other car parks where the free parking offer isn’t applicable we won’t be accepting cash payments so you’ll need to pay for your parking using alternative payment options such as card or mobile.
What’s NCP’s definition of a key worker?
We’re aligned with the Government’s definition of key workers so anyone within these groups can park at no cost at the participating car parks.
